Ghent is divided in two parts by locks.
- The southwestern part with monumental buildings beside the Ketelvest, Scheldt and Lys, but also the peace and quiet of nature so typical of the old parts of the Scheldt. To explore this area, Vlotgent offers roofless rafts with quiet engines that will take you anywhere you want to go, except for the area of Gras-en Korenlei.

- The hip and trendy neighborhood that stretches from the northeast of Ghent to the Houtdok, including the historical Portus Ganda, the cosy waters running along the Visserij and the Lousbergkaai. We built a raft with a delicate rooftop and a stronger motor, perfectly suitable for cruising the wider parts in this historical area.

Do I need a license?
Because of the catamaran-construction, our rafts are large and stable while keeping close to the surface of the water-level. They are a lot more stable and agile than traditional boats. The quiet engines are selected to reach a maximum speed of 6-7 km/h, making a license unnecessary. The captain has to be at least 18 and has to stick to the traditional rules as they are known on steady grounds.

It’s a public secret that the Gras- en Korenlei are immensely popular and bustling stake-outs, but for that same reason they are very crowded, also on the water. To tackle this heavy traffic, we constructed a specific raft with built-in modern technology.
